Cookie policy
Last updated 25 October 2026
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. The site’s own code sets no cookies, and its fonts are served from our own server. The cookies described below come from Google’s advertising and analytics services and, if you play a webcast, from YouTube.
Advertising cookies
Ads on the site are served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may set cookies or use similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure performance and, if you agree, show ads based on your interests.
If you visit from the UK, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, Google’s consent message asks for your choice before advertising cookies are used. If you decline, you may still see ads, but they will not be personalised. Google explains how it uses information from sites that show its ads at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can manage personalised ads at adssettings.google.com.
Analytics cookies
Google Analytics counts visits and shows which pages are read. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by a code, which hold a random identifier and last up to two years. We use it only for statistics about how the site is used: Google signals and advertising use of this data are switched off. Google explains its use of this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
In the European Economic Area and Switzerland these cookies are set only if you accept in the consent message. In the UK they are set without asking first, as UK law allows for cookies used only to collect statistics that help improve a website, provided you can object. Wherever you are, you can turn analytics off for this browser here:
The choice is saved in your browser, so it applies until you clear this site’s data, and it needs making again in each browser you use.
Launch webcasts
Around a launch, launch pages can show the webcast. When it is on YouTube, the page shows a still photo until you press play, and only then loads YouTube’s player from youtube-nocookie.com. Once the video plays, YouTube may set cookies or use similar technologies under Google’s privacy policy. Webcasts on X open on X’s own site in a new tab, so X sets nothing on this site.
Changing your choice
To change a choice you made in the consent message, clear this site’s cookies in your browser settings and reload the page; the message will appear again. You can also block or delete cookies for any site through your browser settings.
