Privacy policy
Last updated 25 October 2026
spacex-news.com publishes news and data about SpaceX. This policy explains what personal data the site handles when you visit it or contact us, and the choices you have. The site is run by spacex-news.com, which is responsible for this data. You can reach us at editor@spacex-news.com.
What we collect
Server logs. Like most websites, our web server records each request it receives: your IP address, the page requested, the time, the address of the page that linked to it, and your browser’s user-agent string. We use these logs to keep the site secure and working, for example to spot attacks and find broken pages. They are deleted after 14 days. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
Advertising. The site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see them and measure them. Visitors in the UK, the European Economic Area and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google’s consent message before any advertising cookies are used, and can decline. Google’s use of data on partner sites is explained at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. See the cookie policy for details.
Launch webcasts. Launch pages can show a YouTube webcast around lift-off. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play; from then on Google receives your IP address and may use cookies, as described in the cookie policy. Webcasts on X open on X’s site and are covered by X’s privacy policy.
Email you send us. If you write to us, we keep your message and address for as long as needed to deal with it, and then for up to two years in case the matter comes up again. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering and keeping a record of correspondence.
Email newsletter and alerts. These are not offered yet. This policy will be updated before they start, to explain what they collect and which providers are involved.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read, so we know what readers find useful. It records the pages you view, how you arrived, your approximate location, and your device and browser, under a random identifier stored in a cookie. Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses. We use it only for statistics: Google signals and advertising use of this data are switched off. Visitors in the European Economic Area and Switzerland are asked in the same consent message as for advertising, and analytics cookies are only set if you agree; without consent, Google receives only cookieless signals that cannot identify you. In the UK, analytics cookies are set without asking first under the exemption for statistics cookies, and you can turn them off on the cookie page. Our legal basis is your consent where it is asked for, and otherwise our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used. Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell personal data.
Where the data is processed
The site is hosted by Akamai Cloud (Linode) on servers in the United States, so server logs are held there. Google may process advertising data in the United States and other countries, under its own terms. Where personal data leaves the UK, we rely on our providers’ data protection terms for the safeguards UK law requires.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it or stop using it. You can also object to how we use it. Email editor@spacex-news.com and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when the site starts handling data in a new way, and change the date at the top.
